Pornstar Interview With Wren the White Trash Princess

Wren the White Trash Princess

In one fell swoop, Wren the White Trash Princess
will look you in the face and proclaim, “I’m not making a porno” thus
breaking your heart… and seconds before breaking your nose. In a time
when love hurts, Wren is going to make you earn it. Call her white
trash, but don’t you dare call her any other names. Go ahead… just
try her.

I’m sure there’s a few people who would be looking to get in
the ring with you and fight for the title of “White Trash Princess.”
Tell us the story behind the title and why you feel it belongs to you.

I might look like a harmless little blond model but if you know me in
real life you know not to fuck with me. I have been known to break
quite a few noses in my day. Not to say I am a classless bitch who goes
out looking for a fight. But, when provoked I pack a fucking beat down
no one would expect to come from a girl who looks like me. I grew up in a
pretty shit part of town and most of the girls I was friends with in
high school were rich and liked to run their mouths at bars. I was
always the one to fend off their attackers. Classy on the outside,
ghetto at heart (LOL). Hence, being dubbed the white trash princess
since my teen years.

If Lindsay Lohan and you wanted to brawl for the title of “White Trash Princess,” how badly would you thrash her?

Oh dude, I think that would be a good fight. That girl looks like she
has lots of repressed anger she’s just waiting to take out on someone.
In the end though, she needs to eat a burger so I could most likely take
her 90 pound ass.

You’re a bit of a vagabond moving from place to place. Are you a
bank robber or are you still trying to find the place that stimulates
you enough to stay?

Oh lord, definitely not a bank robber. I was lucky enough to work for
a company that let me transfer as I pleased all over the place. And,
through my years of modeling I have made so many friends all over the
place so it has been nice to move to new cities and experience new
things while already having a little friend base there to lean on when
life got me down. I think I have always just wanted to see and do as
much as possible, and since I have had nothing to tie me down anywhere I
just kind of go with the flow and make spontaneous choices as I please.

I assume its tough to maintain a steady relationship when you’re living out of your suitcase, right?

I’d say it’s harder to find a decent man then to have a long distance
relationship. Though I always seem to find a rad dude just as I am
moving to a new city. To top if of when you do find a good man the
likely hood with them being cool with the fact that you get naked all
over the internet is very slim. I’m not exactly the girl guys are
beating down the door to bring home to mom and dad to say the least.

So, what type of person is it going to take for you to unpack your suitcase and settle down?

Doing what I do it is very hard to find some one who can a)
get over the fact that I am naked on the internet and that yes more then
likely… a lot of their friends have seen me naked because of it; b)
not be jealous as fuck about it. I really do love what I do and some
people find it hard to wrap their heads around that concept. But,
luckily I have found a pretty wonderful guy who is super supportive of
me and instead of being jealous when I have a shoot is stoked because he
knows it makes me happy. We have a super open and honest relationship
which somehow is very hard to find these days. I had to go through a LOT
of douche bags before I stumbled upon him, but I sure am lucky I did.

In your MySpace blog, you say that most of your friends are
guys with girlfriends. You know they all really want to sleep with you
or have thought about it at least. Do you really think your male
friend’s girlfriends are ready to share time with a deliciously sexy
thing like you? You can see where insecurity would kick in, right?

I think that any girl should be secure enough in their relationship
to know their boyfriend will not cheat on them no matter who the girl
is. And to be honest, if you aren’t why the fuck are you in that
relationship in the first place? The guy friends I do have are dudes I
have known for years and are pretty much like family to me. It’s hard
for me to comprehend a girl being so insecure in herself that she can’t
be cool with her boyfriend being close with another girl. It would be
way easier to just come hang with me and realize I am not some maneater
whore out to steal your boyfriend. Have a beer with us and chill the
fuck out. Not to mention, being jealous of your boyfriend’s best friends
and getting mad at them for hanging out only drives a wedge in between
you and weakens your relationship. Silly fucking broads.

Let’s talk about your modeling career. Tell us how you got started 4 years ago.

Well, it probably started more like 6 years ago. A friend of mine had
a loft space she would rent out to photographers for shoots. One night
me and the girls all met up there as a photo shoot was ending to start
our drinking for the night. The photographer and I met and he wanted to
shoot me. I was super stoked to say the least. We ended up shooting all
the time. He helped me build up my portfolio and it all went from
there. I am still very thankful to him for it.

And when did you join GodsGirls as a model?

I was 21 living in Montreal and for some reason decided it would be fun to be naked online (LOL). 3 years later, here I am!

What’s the most exhilarating shoot you’ve done so far?

Honestly, I don’t know? To be honest, I just love being in front of
the camera. As long as we can laugh together and have the same end
result in mind, I am pretty much super stoked on every shoot. Had you
asked what shoot I hated most that would have been a more interesting
answer :p

Alright then. Without naming names, what’s the worst shoot you’ve ever been a part of?

It wasnt in any way to do with the photog but, I shot in late October
outside on a day that ended up being -10. I had to run back to the car
every 6 poses or so and warm up for ten minutes at a time. I thought my
limbs were gonna fall off. Somehow it was colder that day then when I
shot in the fucking snow. NOT FUNNNNNNN! What did I learn… check the
fucking weather network before going out to the fucking back woods in
late October to shoot. But, it was a close second to shooting in an
abandoned warehouse in Montreal. It had apparently become the pigeon
hang out. There were HUNDREDS of fucking pigeons kicking around not
to mention a few that weren’t still kicking around (vomits at the
fucking thought). And to top it off, there was pigeon shit EVERYWHERE.
Lucky me. We had planned to sprawl out half naked on the floor
surrounded by roses… bahahah. Thank god there was a sheet for me to lay
on. The picture is one of my faves of me for sure. But, when I got home
I took the longest shower known to mankind and still felt filthy!

Your model mayhem page states that you’re never late and don’t
take a bunch of smoke breaks. To me that basically says that you’re
professional and take your career seriously. Is this safe to assume?

I definitely take my career very seriously. I have worked my ass off
to try and start to make a name for myself and it is finally starting to
pay off. Nothing falls into your lap in life. You have to go out and
make everything you want happen. I know what I want and nothing gets in
my way of getting there.

Name your favorite photographer(s) to work with?

That’s like playing Russian Roulette my friend! Not a road I want to
go down. I have loved shooting with everyone. There is not a single
photographer I have worked with that I wouldn’t agree to work with
again. But, I will say that on Matthew Cooke and Steve Prue shoots… there is never a lack of giggle or fun!

If you could shoot with any photographer, who would it be and why?

With out a doubt Annie Leibovitz. She finds the true beauty in everyone she photographs whether they know its there or not.

Let’s talk ink. How many tattoos do you have?

Oh lord, I don’t really keep count. So gimme a sec….. K back… 12 I think (LOL).

What’s your favorite piece and why? Tell us who did the work.

My current favourite is my little native girl on my right arm. It was done by Steve Boltz who tattoos out of Smith Street Tattoos in Brooklyn.

How much more ink are you planning on getting?

I really do not plan on getting too many more. I want full sleeves
and to have my back done. After that I don’t have plans for anything
else really.

You say you’re always on the computer. I believe it because you
twitter’d me and sent me a MySpace message a minute apart. You’re on a
sinking ship and you only have time to grab one thing. Is it your
vibrator or you computer and why?

(LOL) You make me sound like such a lamewad. All three of my jobs are
online. I work for a PR firm doing web based stuff for their clients; I
work for tattoos.com; annnnnnnnddd I keep in touch with all my adoring
boob lurkers… which yes, I consider a job and a very important one! To
be frank I have never owned a sex toy in my life nor have I ever used
one. Odd I know (LOL) but true. So, of course I would obviously save my
laptop. I’m a huge nerd and I would die without it.

No sex toy? That ain’t white trash at all. If you could make a porno with a celebrity guy or girl, who would it be and why?

Currently, Robert Pattinson because he is a sexy fucking vampire
obviously. But, my all time go to guy would be Johnny Depp as he is the
sexiest man alive. Though yeah, I’m a half prude and would never make a
porn. Sorry kids!

We first featured you on Yuhmm with a blog post about your
interview with the blog “The Boobs.” Are your boobs your best asset and
why?

Oh lord, one would like to think she has more to offer then just
boobs. I kind of like to think I have a rad and well rounded personality
and hopefully after knowing me, other people would say that too.
Though, I do have pretty magical natural breasts.

Magical indeed. Last question. You say you have a mouth like a
pirate. Give us a full on sentence using your favorite profanity on
how you would tell a sleazy photographer to shove his camera up his ass.
  And go…

When I’m hurt I tend to be much more foul mouthed then when I just
think someone is a douche bag. I just tell him to get fucked and walk
out or possibly deck him out had he gotten out of line. One of the two
options are very possible.

Interview With Pornstar Angelica Carrera

Angelica Carrera

On the menu this month is an exotic fusion of
flavors from Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and Mexico. Definitely mouth
watering. Her name is Angelica Carrera, a former Golden State Warrior
cheerleader from the Bay who now calls LA home. We get up close and
personal with Ms. Angelica and discuss boys, girls, and uh…
clitoral stimulation.

Let’s start off with our obligatory Yuhmm question. What’s the sweetest thing that’s ever met your lips?

Probably the last time I had my 1st kiss (with someone). I have a
belief that everyone’s 1st kiss is a little OFF cause it’s the 1st time …
but, this very extra special sensual 1st kiss was soooo on point that I
pulled him in closer to do it again … Soooo SWEET!!

You grew up in The Bay Area. Tell us about your childhood.

Yeeeeeeeeee!! Yay Area … love the BAY!! Union City to be exact. I
grew up the only girl smack in between two older brothers and two
younger brothers. I had it rough being a girl around all these boys
but, it helped me grow up to be the extra strong woman that I am today …
a lil’ tom-boyish but, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

So, you’re of Hawaiian / Puerto Rican descent. I don’t think it
gets any spicier than that. Did you grow up eating Rice, beans, and Spam?

I’m Mexican, Puerto Rican, & Hawaiian. YUP, ALL that cause both
parents got super mad skills in the kitchen. Sure did do a body good
;D. I love food!!!

We do agree that it definitely did the body good. Speaking of
the tight ass body of a Greek goddess you have, how do you stay so fit?

Damn, like that??? THhhhAaaNnKS!! Well, staying fit is a piece of
cake. I actually remember the 1st time I saw my detours forming. From
that day, I was on a roll. Important things to remember; always stay
positive … NEVER give up… set a goal … reach it… then, maintain it!! My
favorite things to do to are dancing, Stairmaster, lunges, squats,
boxing/kickboxing, walking up hill , & riding ;D Yessssss, RIDING is a great work out!!

We hear you’ve been dancing since the age of 3. If you were a
contestant on Dancing with the Stars, how far in the competition would
you get?

Reality shows are too much at times but, when it involves dance (the
LOVE of my life) I could get on it. I think I’d give everyone a run for
their money but, partner dancing is tricky. So, it would really depend
on the skills of my partner and the chemistry we’d have together.

What part of your body do you consider your best asset and why?

I’d have to say my legs … cause I have super strong dancer legs. The more curves the merrier ;D

Are you the type of girl to approach a guy if you’re diggin’ him or do you sit back and wait for the guy to make the move?

It depends if I know this guy/girl (keep in mind … I have an open
mind) but, I’m usually not the first to make a move… unless it’s the
perfect time/place and I want it that bad.

Open minded is good. Tell us the worse pick up line you’ve heard.

Oh, I’ve heard them all. Here’s just a few. “You must be from Tennessee, ‘cause you are the only 10 I see.”

Whack! Give us another.

“Let’s act like two walls and meet in the corner.” Always good for a lil’ laugh.

Now, it’s time to heat things up in our Yuhmm kitchen. Do you
have that one magical place on your body that when kissed or touched,
the juices start flowing?

I have a few. My neck, my back and inner thighs (I’ve got to keep some secrets for myself … Sooooooo there’s my top four melting point spots).

Are you a girl who prefers the top or the bottom?

Top is always amazing but, I work either way and get mine ;D Also,
everything’s not so black and white. There are soooooo many other ways
and angles.

It would be great if you could give us a tutorial sometime. Are you into toys?

YES! Anything that vibrates or prepares me for anal (yes I do). Just
a lil’ heads up to all you out there… GIRLS LOVE P*$$Y penetration and
clitoral stimulation at the same time. Such an amazing feeling!!

Hold up. I’m taking notes. Ok, name something a dude can do
when you’re in a heated moment in bed that can just turn you
off completely.

Fart (never happened), have bad breath, stick a finger in my butt
when I’m not in the mood, or ask me to do anything to his booty besides
help him thrust (usually do that on my own if it’s necessary).

Yeah man. That finger in the ass when you ain’t expecting it,
ain’t cool… sometimes. LOL. Let’s get back to you being open minded.
Katy Perry kissed a girl and she liked it. And you?

I kiss ALL the time and I LOVE it. I just got weak (.::lickin my lips::.)

You might be licking your lips, but I might be taking a cold
shower here soon. Let’s talk about modeling. Name some of your favorite
photographers that you’ve worked with.

I love anyone fun, artistic and original. Tony Chu, Brian Bobila, Aaron Powell, Nha’Chim, and James Heckhaus to name a few.

Are there any photographers that you’d like to work with?

Michael Anthony, Pete Ambrose, Emily Perez, Mark DeLong, Stefano Oppo, Peter Langone, Eolo Perfido, & Jose Ramon Cagigas

Did you hear that? Holla at ya girl. What can we expect to see from Angelica coming up this year?

This year I’m pushing EXTRA HARD to get everything movin’ rockin’ and
rollin’. Eventually, I’m gonna be making my way back to the Bay to
open my own dance studio and be with my family (#1 forever in my heart).
So, as far as modeling goes, I would love to see myself in magazines,
fashion shows, music videos, billboards, computer and phone wallpapers,
MySpace backgrounds, t-shirts, Wheaties boxes, TV Shows, fashion
advertisements, etc. Bottom line and the moral of the story - I want
the world to know who I am and see my genuine and down to earth
personality. I want to share my talents with the world!

Interview With Pornstar Hanna Hilton

Hanna Hilton

There’s a reason why many have acknowledged Vivid Entertainment CEO Steven Hirsch as the “king of porn” including Forbes Magazine.
In today’s strained economy where adult film sales have been
decreasing by 15 percent a year since 2005, you don’t find Hirsch
joining Larry Flynt and Joe Francis in their plea for a government
bailout. Instead, Hirsch dug deeper and adapted his business with
creating back to back hit reality shows on Showtime as well as his new
movie Throat - an update on the famous Linda Lovelace film with red hot Sasha Grey
as the lead. However, we believe one of his best decisions was signing
newcomer Hanna Hilton to his powerhouse roster of porn stars. Hilton
has conquered the solo/centerfold world as a model and is ready to do
the same as an adult film starlet. She once said that she wants to get
in and get out quick - no pun intended. After a couple films deep with
Vivid, it sounds like she may be tossing that out the window. We have
our fingers crossed.

You grew up in Indiana. Is it true that the only things to do there are play basketball and go cow tipping?

LOL not at all!! You can also play “hide n’ seek” in the cornfields!

Tell us about growing up a mid-western girl.

I think the mid-west represents real, true America. I’m glad that I
grew up in the mid-west because it makes me appreciate things even more.

What was your first car?

I had a 1994 Grand Am. A white one & I called “her” Pinky.

Did you lose your virginity in that car parked in a cornfield or somewhere else?

Ha, nope!! By the side of the road by the lake actually.

You have a beautiful voluptuous figure. You’re 5’9 with a natural 34DD bosom. At what age did you fully develop?

I’m pretty sure I was fully developed at age 15.

I could imagine that you had every boy in town after you. Were
you swatting the boys away like flies or were they too intimidated?

I was pretty much always in a relationship so, I didn’t have to deal with that too much.

We see that you were born on Halloween which makes you a
Scorpio. They say that Scorpios are the most sexual sign. Is this
true?

I think it’s becoming more and more true every day! I used to be
reserved sexually but, I’ve become way more open and confident about sex
and my sex life.

That makes us happy to know. Adding to the Halloween theme, what’s the sexiest Halloween costume you’ve ever worn.

Probably a sexy kitty, MEOW!!

You’ve been modeling for several years. Tell us how you got started.

I actually got started when I got approached by a local photographer
to make a model portfolio. I did it, liked the pics and decided to do
something with them!! I put them on a website (OMP.com) and my first agent contacted me from there.

When you first saw yourself published in a hugely established magazine such as Penthouse, what was going through your mind?

I was happy, excited, shocked, and proud. I’ve had self-esteem issues
my entire life so, to see photos of myself in a magazine was a huge
deal to me.

As a Penthouse Pet, I’m sure the requests by your fans for you
to move into the adult film business were numerous. What was the
deciding factor for you to make the move and become a Vivid contract
girl?

Several things. One being I was just looking for something more
exciting. I felt like I had already conquered everything that I wanted
to in the solo/centerfold world and I sort of just wanted to rebel
for once.

We think you should definitely rebel a little more often. On the Showtime series “Deeper Throat”
there was a somewhat awkward moment between you and rock star Dave
Navarro who was on set to help Tera Patrick direct an all Vivid girl
orgy. However, Dave left the scene and some speculate he was
uncomfortable because the two of you had a past. Care to elaborate on
the situation?

Ha, nope!

I had a feeling that was the answer you were going to give.
We’ll leave it alone.Any other rock star or celebrity crushes that you
grew up with or have now?

None that I can think of. C’mon. Not even the good looking Larry Bird - the King of Indiana? Let’s talk about your latest film Bounce. Tell us the concept.

Bounce is a movie that I shot with B.Skow. Basically it’s hot girls with nice natural boobies.

We read that you actually got a cramp during a scene and leaned
back to stretch and fell off the bed right onto your head. Ouch! Any
other embarrassing or funny moments in bed?

I think that one topped the charts!

We’ll have to ask Steven Hirsch for that blooper reel. We know
you’ve stated that you want to get in and out of the adult film
industry in two years. We’re speculating that it may not be so easy to
leave seeing that you’re on track to potentially become one of the
biggest adult film stars alongside some of the most recognizable names
on the planet like Tera and Briana Banks. Is this still the plan and why?

Honestly that was the plan but, after this past year with Vivid I
threw that out the window and am just taking things day by day. I’m
having so much fun right now. Who knows what will end up happening.
Stay tuned!

I think you just made a lot of fans happy with that answer. One
last question. If you were to hang with another famous Hilton named
Paris, what would what the two of you talk about?

Hmm, who knows!! I don’t know her so it would just depend on if our personalities clicked and on what level.

She did perform really well in One Night in Paris. Maybe you can convince her to be a Vivid girl. Thanks for the interview!!!

Interview With Dido Fontana

Dido Fontana

The subjects Dido Fontana photographs stare
directly at the camera, as if they’re looking through you. Enter his
world, where his images speak for themselves, and he peers through the
viewfinder with red wine eyes.

When did you first know that you wanted to see the world through a lens and capture your point of view with a camera?

It was immediate. I was seven or eight years-old, I think. I played
with my father’s “toys”… Hasselblad, Leica, Nikon, Rolley. I grew up in a
darkroom. Maybe the lens helped me to see my point of view… maybe it
was a trick to be able to see the “real-reality”… or maybe I just loved
to see models undress.

What’s your weapon of choice?

I love film. Leica M4, some Yashica T4, some old Nikons: F, F2. I
love Polaroid too. Sometimes I play with my old Hasselblad 500C. Flash
mounted and natural light as well. However, I do not restrict myself. I
also play with what I find at the moment: shoot n’ trash, cameras of
friends, etc… But, I always have one point n’ shoot with me at
all times.

With so much digital technology available at your fingerprints, what’s the motivation to stay analog?

The chemical is a friend, it’s life. I can sniff it and taste it…
also, I don’t love to control every aspect of the process. I just love
the little surprises looking at the contact sheet, concentrating on
every “click.” I prefer to be present, to be living “in the now.” Film
keeps you from “back-thinking.” Also, I like to have the negatives and
store them. Digital is too much democratic to me. I use it for the very
big prints, pass the negative with a drum-scan then c-print or lambda
print…but, I love the feel of the real chemical chromogenic print.

We very much respect your approach. So, tell us what inspires you.

Growing up was a real kick! I grew up with nudes, acids, and
weightlifting. I’ve always used my senses & my body… I’m very
physical. I have a neanderthal-approach on every aspect of my life: I do
photos; I do weights; I eat; I love. I love red wine, the life, the red
wine, the sex, the red wine… I’m no frills. I try to be as honest as I
can. If I wanted to seem cool, I could do one kind of modern
“neo-realismo all Italiana” (Italian way of neo-realism).

So, you’re pretty much saying you like red wine. Simplicity…
that’s key. In terms of lo-fi style of photography, what photographers
or artists do you feel are making an impact today?

Larry Clark and Nan Goldin… Jurgen Teller and Ryan McGinley too have a terrific taste. I really like Yone, who I discovered right here!

You just named many of our favourites as well and happy to have
introduced you to Yone. Your approach feels very natural and candid,
yet detached from reality based on the whimsical themes and costumes you
use. For instance, you’ve put a birdhouse on the head of a pregnant
woman or a Mexican wrestling mask on a naked woman. What message are you
trying to convey?

You’re right! Candid and gonzo are the right words. The approach I
have is natural with no message. I only feel the mood, the color, the
lines… that’s all. Often when I shoot I’m half drunk… so… it’s
impossible to reason too much. The house on the pregnant woman’s head is
only a house on a pregnant woman’s head to me. Sometimes they say I do
fine-art photography… I say photography.

We see Christianity referenced in many of your photographs. Do you come from a strict Catholic Italian family?

Yes, I’m Catholic, but not one of the best species. I’ve always been
around crucifixes, rosaries, Madonnas… it’s part of my daily life. My
family home was full of Catholic imagery. I don’t force myself to shot
it, it just comes natural to me. A sort of fashion and glam from the
past. I feel strongly about the relationship between faith, life, death
and eternal life.

I know when I went to mass on Sundays, I would stare at the
stained glass windows and admire the artwork. How has religion inspired
what you do now?

The characters of the Roman-Catholic’s Christianity are strongly
correlated to the iconography of the suffering (contrarily to the
victorious-iconography of the oriental-orthodox) that part of it
fascinates me terribly. It’s so sensual. Imagine through the pain and
the blood - we can arrive to the Light. It’s fascinating. Also, I think
that the Catholic’s iconography is sexy: a lot of sexual and sensual
objects, the colours… it’s all “full blown passion”…blood and stomach.
Do you know that the first miracle of Jesus was made for eating
something? It’s a very physical experience and stomach and senses have a
fundamental position. The body is at the same level of the soul.

The female body to us is a beautiful subject to shoot and you capture it well. How do you choose your female subjects?

I hate the “May I put my happy ass here models.” I love the women
that “don’t want to appear beautiful in way to make them to appear
wonderful.” It’s necessary to have big confidence. That makes the shot
amazing. I work with no set, no studio lights, no assistant (sometimes
only one assistant). The models feel more relaxed, easy-going and in a
fun-way. I proceed without a real project. My sessions are very organic
and it takes form naturally. It’s the same attitude for my commissioned
portraits. Often the best pics are where the subject has not revealed
himself immediately. That’s one radical approach as I don’t want to fake
the nature of my subjects. I could give a speech on truth and the
perception of the truth.

What are you currently working on and where can we see more of your work?

Now I’m living between Italy and Switzerland, but I was living in
L.A. for a time. I do portrait-commission and personal work. From ‘07 -
when I won the first Prize-photography Pitti Immagine
in Florence. I’ve been called to do some advertising shoots and
editorials. Two Italian stylists commissioned me to shoot their stuff
this Spring. My next assignments will be in Geneva, Beirut, & NYC.
In the meantime, I’m working on my book. Therefore, I’m browsing my
negative’s folder, choosing pics and other boring things - but necessary
- things like that. I think next year, it will be ready. I’m happy to
work with crazy people that surprise me. Here they say: “se no ié màti,
no i volemo!” (if they are not crazy, we don’t want them!)

Interview With S J Whiteley

S-j Whiteley

We first discovered the delicious Sarah Jayne
Whiteley modeling for GodsGirls. Known to many as S-j, our friend from
the UK has been featured in several publications and magazine covers
since then. Recently adding designer and musician to her resume, she’s
on a mission for world domination. We caught up with S-j to talk shop
about tattoos, her Built for Sin clothing line, and the fine art
of masturbation.

We want our US readers to get to know you better so we’re going
to start off with the standard question… tell us how you got your start
in modeling?

I first tried my hand at modeling for my ex-boyfriend’s company, and
then also my own. I realized that I was getting a good reception to the
photos so, I wanted to pursue it some more. I’ve always just been myself
in the pictures and it seems to work for me.

We first spotted you as a model for GodsGirls. What other modeling work have you done since?

I joined GodsGirls.com
as one of the first UK models and it has since grown into a massive
family full of girls. I have made some of my best friends from that
site! I then got approached by tattoo magazines and Bizarre Magazine
and its kept going from there really. Modeling for me is another
creative outlet. I love to try new things and wear things that I
wouldn’t normally wear. Pushing my boundaries is all in the fun of it.
Running around in heels and underwear is pretty much what I do at home
anyway… either that or in band shirts! Obviously, I’m always going to
rep my own clothes, which I constantly do. Last year, I worked with UK
graffiti artist Insa
for an Australian street wear magazine called Acclaim. We did a Latino /
chola / gangster inspired shoot with rubber for Insa’s collaboration
with House of Bias
rubber makers. I am in talks with him to work together again for one of
my own projects this summer. If it all works out, it will be huge!

The UK tabloids can be quite vicious. What’s the most scandalous thing they’ve written about you?

I’ve usually had pretty good press. The only thing that has bummed me
about the press is that they always print things wrong about me. No
surprises there! Haha, that’s the media for you… things like I’m from
the wrong place or that I’m dating someone when in fact I’ve only ever
had one boyfriend or that I got my first tattoo at 10 years old!!

What’s the most scandalous thing you’ve done that’s nobody’s written about?

Well, this would be writing about it! So, I’m afraid I can’t tell you
that. I gotta keep some secrets now I haven’t I!? I suppose I am most
scandalous sexually. I will leave it at that!!

We’ll have to use our imagination on that one. You’ve recently
had a break up with Oliver Sykes - lead singer of death core band Bring
Me the Horizon. Any other rockstars knocking on your door at the
moment?

Hmm… Now that’s a question! There is no one for me right now. I tend
to fall for rock star types. All tattoos, accents, bands and hair. I’m
not really looking to get into something serious again yet and I am very
picky! I guess I’m enjoying being single. I like to do my own
business. Oh, and I’ve got that masturbation thing down to a fine art.

Wow, you just put an image in my head. Let me have another
minute to dwell on that…. Okay, I just stored that thought in a
permanent hardrive in my brain. Well then, I think it would take a very
confident man to be able to hold your hand in public being the strong
ambitious sexual creature you are. Do you find it challenging to find a
good bloke who is comfortable with you being a sex symbol as well as an
entrepreneur?

Well, I often get asked out on dates, but I never usually take them
up on their offer. I figure when I want someone, I will go and get them
myself. I’ve been asked on dates by a weird selection of people in fact.
People who I really wouldn’t expect to be their type. Clean cut and
kinda good looking gentlemen.

When you first decided to pose nude did you find it liberating or nerve racking?

Haha. Well, I found the experience to be both of those feelings. But,
it’s such a great thing to do. One day I’m going to be older and I
won’t want to do it then. I love being naked and living my life to the
fullest. Besides, it’s the only way you can see all of my tattoos. It’s
really liberating to show your body in a sexual way… and, I LOVE to
shock people.

Well, we love that you love to be naked. Works for us. Name some of your favorite photographers to work with and why?

I like everyone that I’ve worked with so far. My favourite probably being Steve Neaves who shot my Bizarre Magazine spread and Kevin Mason from DarkDaze
as they have been the biggest scale sets I have been involved in. With
Steve, he stuck me underneath a rain machine for six hours, wetting a
latex costume and roller skates while fighting with another girl. I love
over the top photos full of colour and very in your face. David LaChapelle is my favourite photographer so anyone with his enthusiasm for colour and life in their photos will make my grade.

We’ve interviewed a few models with larger than life personas
who also exude sexuality out of their pores. We feel you’re definitely
one. Many of them say they’re the total opposite in bed and more
reserved and shy. I don’t think your this person right?

Well, firstly thank you for saying so. I like to be in control. I’ve
definitely grown into my sexuality over the last couple of years. I know
what I like, want and what I need. I’m scared of becoming a nympho. I
could see that happening.

If you do become a nympho, we’ll be more scared for the person
on the receiving end. Lucky bastard. Let’s talk about your awesome
chest… tattoo that is. Who did the work?

Haha, thank you! Yeah its one of my favourite pieces. Probably the
most striking as it’s on my chest. My artist was my buddy Xam. He works
at Frith Street Tattoo
in London’s Soho. It was exactly what I wanted… all custom for me of
course. It’s a great shop and Xam has done most of my recent work on my
arm. We’re working on a sleeve this year but in pieces. The work on it
so far has been amazing. The last bit we did was a sexy blonde on my
underarm. I like blondes! He also did the garter belt on my thigh.

Our favourite tattoo is the skull gazing into the eyes of the
girl on your ribcage. Talk about the design and the artist behind
the work.

My tattoo artist for this piece was a tattoo artist in the U.K called
Diego. It was my second piece ever. It’s about loving someone forever
even after death. I still believe that true love can happen even though I
haven’t found it. But, it’s also for my family and friends.

Any tattoo artists that you’d like to collaborate with in the future?

I’ve always been a fan of traveling to visit my favourite artists and
tattoo shops. As I did so most recently in Paris with the hottie, Laura Satana.
There are a load of artists I like and want to get tattooed by. Chad
Koeplinger who is moving over here soon is one. He recently did a
design for my company. Mister Cartoon in L.A, Kat Von D
(as I respect her a lot)… the list is endless! I always try to get
tattoos in the places that I visit. A lot of my tattoos are like
passport stamps.

You also design a clothing line called Built for Sin Apparel. Tell us the concept behind the line.

Well, I started designing shirts for my band a few years ago and just
sold them on my MySpace page. I sold out straight away. So, I figured
it worked and designed some more stuff. Things continued to be selling
well so then, came the birth of Built For Sin. I try to cater to a lot
of different people. My clothing is inspired by the music, street, and
tattoo cultures. I still get a buzz whenever I see people wearing
my stuff.

Let’s talk about your band and your music.

Well, I’ve been playing the drums since I was 12. It’s a hobby for
me. I love to play! Its so much fun. I have my brother and three other
dudes in my band and we all just drink and rock out and have fun. I also
sing and have been trying to record some bits to release on MySpace.
This will hopefully progress further this year. I have a feeling it will
be a busy year for me.

Any plans on moving to the US?

No plans to move as of yet. I have most of my best friends over here,
but saying that, I also have friends all over the States including my
delicious best friend Charity (pictured with me in the topless shoots).
So, I am definitely coming over this year. I’m planning LA, Vegas, and
New York City. I wanna party, meet some fans, do some shoots and get
tattooed!

We’ll definitely give us a heads up when you come to this way. We’d love to shoot you. Tell us what’s ahead in 09 for S-J.

Well, I am opening my DOT.COM where you will be able to buy signed
prints, posters, and magazines as well as pay to view more exclusive
pictures. I will also be traveling to the U.S and Canada for general
debauchery! And, last but not least… World domination. I want everyone
to know my name. Feel free to contact me on my MySpace page. I try to
reply to everyone.

We’re big fans and already aboard your world domination train.
Everyone else, buy your fucking tickets now and hop on. We have a
feeling that seats will be filling up fast.

Interview With Andy San Dimas

Andy San Dimas

When Vivid-Alt founder Eon McKai
talks, we listen and when he said “you need to feature Andy San Dimas”
we gladly accepted the task with open arms. The 22 year-old Vivid-Alt
hottie and star of Eon’s latest film On My Dirty Knees tells us about her fascination with Bill & Ted and why pain can be so pleasurable.

Your MySpace profile says “I fuck on film… Other than that, I’m pretty normal.” C’mon, how normal can you be?

I guess what I’m trying to say is that I’m not the huge slut everyone
would imagine me to be. I’m pretty low key. I spend most of my time
playing video games at home. I’m not a huge bar or party person.

We hear you got your name from San Dimas High featured in Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey. What’s the connection?

Hahaha, oh man… I’m just really into nostalgia. When I would watch
B&T when I was little, I saw their world as this really interesting
place. I had never been to California before, so I had no idea what the
actual town of San Dimas was really like… so I just pictured it the way
it was in the movie and the way any non-Californian kid would. I liked
the way it sounded. When I was in high school I used to think of random
stupid porn names and write them all over my textbooks… it was always
Andy San Dimas.

Right on, dude. So, would you have banged Bill or Ted… Or both?

TED THEODORE LOGAN, duh! Bill belonged to my little sister. We used
to watch the movies over and over and just drool over them. I remember
us hating on the princesses pretty intensely. 80’s Keanu Reeves is
like my ultimate stud. I have a thing for “himbos”. If it came down to
it and Bill wanted to bone as well, I would totally be the meat in a
Bill and Ted sandwich.

Eon McKai tells us that you’re the most searched name on his
Flickr page. How did the two of you meet and what made you decide to
sign with Vivid-Alt?

I was actually a fan of his before I met him. I thought his movies
were perfect and I loved everything about them. The chicks were hot,
the music was awesome…the style was insane. I really wanted to be a
part of them. I had been wanting to do porn for so long. I randomly
had someone take some nude photos of me and Eon was the first person I
sent them to. We talked briefly and then met up in Vegas the next week.
I wanted to work for Vivid-Alt because they are the best… the quality
is unmatched.

You represent a new movement in adult entertainment where the likes of girls such as you, Stoya, and Sasha Grey
are really breaking ground into the mainstream and now competing with
mainstream contract girls. What separates you apart from the rest and
why do you think “alt” is making such an impact?

It’s hard to say what sets me a part from the rest of the ladies
because I’m not super cocky. I feel like there are a lot of girls in
the industry who just wake up one day and decide they want to do porn,
which is usually a bad decision for them. They aren’t prepared for the
emotional impact and the physical labor that goes a long with it. I
feel like I have always wanted to do this, so I’ve been ready for a
really long time… maybe that’s what makes me different. I think
alternative porn is making such a huge impact on the industry because
it’s so real… and a lot more artistic and interesting to look at. These
girls aren’t your cookie cutter porn stars… every single one of them is
totally unique. The style is insane and it’s almost impossible not to
notice that.

We’ve seen you pop up on Jenna’s site. Is there pressure for you to become more mainstream and move away from alt?

It’s true, there is a lot of pressure for me to be more mainstream. I
started tanning recently, so I wouldn’t look as “goth” (even though I
was never gothic to begin with. People have always labeled me that way,
especially in the biz. Other than that, my style hasn’t really
changed. If anything I think a lot of mainstream chicks are turning
more alt. Everyday I see random alt girls more and “normal” porn girls
becoming heavily tattooed or getting a rock star haircut.

Let’s talk a little about your modeling career. When did you first decide that you wanted to model?

I wanted to model ever since I was a little girl. I remember going
to one cattle call, but my mom wasn’t really into it so I never pursued
it further. She would have rather had me playing sports. I took my
modeling career into my own hands after I turned 18… only this time I
was trading nude pics for money. I have done some paid mainstream stuff
too, but getting naked is my forte.

That’s a yuhmmi forte to be in. And how did that transition into you doing adult films?

I had always wanted to be involved with porn in one way or another,
even way before I had ever had sex. I found the whole industry to be
really intriguing. When I first started out I was only taking nude
photographs… until I had an offer I couldn’t refuse. This guy wanted to
fly me to Vegas the same week as AEE for a couple g’s worth of solo content work. I couldn’t say no.

From some of the photos we’ve seen, you definitely have a high
tolerance level for pain. What turns you on about the culture of bdsm
and at what point does pain turn into pleasure?

I’m actually not very into pain in my personal life. I worked for kink.com
because I have a high pain tolerance and because they are wonderful
people. I think their world of bdsm is very sexy and I loved the dark
atmosphere. When you are in the submissive position and you are having
all of these really intense things happen to you all at once, you kind
of zone out and almost feel some kind of high. It can be very euphoric.

Which photographers have you liked working with the most and why?

One of my favorite photographers is Chase Lisbon of supercult.com. His pictures are so beautiful and rich. I feel like I can taste them and smell them.

How are you handling your newly found fame and are the creeps coming at you now from all angles?

Funny you should ask that right now. I just started dealing with a
new stalker who is kind of freaking me out a little. I’ve always had my
fair share of creepy internet lurkers. Sometimes they’re funny…
sometimes they’re kind of scary. I just kind of ignore that stuff and
take it with a grain of salt.

Any upcoming projects that we should be on the look out for and any last shout outs?

My big movie, ON MY DIRTY KNEES! My boyfriend makes his very first Vivid-Alt performance in that one…with me of course :)

Interview With Chad Michael Ward

Chad Michael Ward

“Normal things wind up being not so normal, once
you scratch the surface….” As a youngster Chad Michael Ward found
himself immersed in horror movies, and for the next 20 years he took in
everything that the macabre genre had to offer. It’s very present, as
his photography is one part love, and one part pain.

Let’s go back to your youth. I bet you were the kid that had
one eye open when Linda Blair’s head started spinning in a circle when
the others had both eyes shut. Tell us a little about your background
and how you got into horror photography.

I come from a small town in Northern California just outside of San
Francisco. I grew up in a fairly mundane middle-class family. Nothing
really all that exciting. My fascination with horror began with Saturday
afternoon horror films on television. Horror has always been with me.
When I started doing photography and art as a hobby back in 1996, it
actually started off with a more sci-fi slant, but the horror elements
eventually crept in and as soon as that happened I realized horror was
where my heart had always been. Once I started working professionally,
the horror aspect of my work stayed with me.

I know that when most guys see a naked girl covered in blood
eating intestines, they’re usually not sporting wood. However, your
photos are innovative and highly erotic. Give us some insight on the
fascination of the erotic horror genre.

There’s a REALLY fine line between “cheese” and “innovative” when it
comes to erotic horror. Most people can’t get past the cheeseball
stuff, so I make it a point to really be as innovative as possible with
my work. I grew up with equal parts fascination with unique
horror—Clive Barker and David Cronenberg were my gods as a teenager—and
with pervy sex. It made sense when my work started really coming
together that I would want to combine the two. It’s all about creating a
story within those elements that both disturbs you and turns you on all
at the same time. It’s a powerful juxtaposition that I don’t think is
done enough, and with any real quality, in the art world.

You’ve produced 3 books of your work to date. BLACK RUST,
AUTOPSYROTICA, and your latest DEVIL ENGINE. Talk about the direction
of Devil Engine and how your work has evolved since Black Rust.

Each book has featured a different aspect of my work. BLACK RUST was
a fictional sci-fi story told through single images and micro-fiction.
AUTOPSYROTICA was my first real exploration of erotic horror, as sex
and death played a big part in my life during that period of time.
DEVIL ENGINE is a collection of my commercial work. It’s still dark,
but showcases a side of my work people might not often see otherwise. I
hate to say that DEVIL ENGINE shows me becoming much more comfortable
with my work, because I’m really not, but it does show a maturation of
thinking and composition that wasn’t really present in previous volumes.

You have a background in production design. Many of your photos are magnificently involved. Walk us through the process.

There really isn’t a set process. Some images are done using sets
and props and crews; others are just me and a model in my garage. It
depends on what the image calls for. Sometimes images start as an idea
in my head—my PAIN BOX series is a good example of this—while other
times, and more often than not, I let images come together more
organically and on the spot.

I get a lot of images that just burn themselves into my psyche
without any warning. When that’s the case, and if I feel the image is
strong enough to give birth, I usually sit down and do a really rough
sketch of it. Once I’ve got the bare bones of something down on paper, I
start listing out a series of notes: color theory, props, random words
associated with the image the might spark further design work, what kind
of model I need for the piece, the make-up and hair, FX needs, etc.
Once all these notes are done, I set about getting all the resources I
need to make it come together. The final photo or painting often bears
little resemblance to my original idea. My work is very organic and
constantly evolves from its start in my head to the final product.

You have a collection of photos titled DANGEROUS BEAUTIES.
What characteristics are needed for a model to be both Dangerous and
Beautiful?

It’s really about a sense of self. DANGEROUS BEAUTIES is about
finding the girl on the inside and pushing her to her limits. Putting
her on that knife’s edge and seeing what she chooses to do with it.
It’s a connection between me and the person in front of my camera.

Every photographer has their muse or favorite model. Whose yours?

I’ve had many muses over the years. Currently I think that role is
best filled by two girls—Satine Phoenix and Shelby Jones. My
relationship with them has evolved from model and muse into really
amazing lifelong friendships.

You’re also a kick ass music video director. Tell us who you’ve worked with.

I’ve done videos for smaller bands like Dragonlord, D’Amato and
Alhelluja as well as bigger names like Derek Sherinian, Billy Idol
and Slash.

What’s on the horizon for Chad Michael Ward?

2009 finds me stepping into the role of producer on a major event
called THE LOST GRIND OPERA that begins in March. DANGEROUS BEAUTIES
has just been released and I’m working on my next book, SICK. I’m also
doing a LOT of writing for some upcoming comic book and movie projects
I’m pitching later in the year.

Interview With Yone

Yasumasa “YONE” Yonehara

Japanese magazine editor Yasumasa Yonehara is the original mastermind
of the lo-fi erotic photography dominating pop culture today. He has
taken instant lomography and his Cheki style of photography to new
heights that are often imitated, but hardly duplicated. Simply known as
Yone, he is as cool and articulate as any modern day artist we could
name. Magazine perverts call his Japanese creation Smart Girls as “the world’s hippest booby magazine.” We just call it “dope.”

We’ve read that your main motivation for pursuing a path in the
arts was to not become an “Ojisan” or Japanese middle-aged man who are
ruled by traditional company ideals. Please explain.

I would say that I have chosen to create my original lifestyle and
not really had the intention to do art. Being involved in art came
subordinating to my lifestyle. In Japan when we become an adult it means
nothing but unconditional acceptance of the existing world. It means
that Japan’s society and the system will not change under the influence
of the economic or the political climate. The Japanese “Salary-man”
system is a institution of slavery that many people are unconscious of.
We are made to believe that “restraining yourself is the way to
adulthood” and we do not have a chance to say what we want to say. But,
once the sake comes in to the scene then they suddenly change and people
reveal themselves. You can see this system triggers people to be the
typical Japanese “Ojisan”. I would always want to be accepted as “a
sexy and attractive man toward women” but, if you live in the Japanese
system it is totally impossible. So by choosing to “create your life
yourself” lead me become an artist.

You are highly noted for your Cheki style photography (instant lomography). What attracted you to this medium initially?

I have always been interested in women not the camera… and the
artistic activity of thinking of how to present the Cheki photos comes
totally after that. When I have worked on the magazine Smart Girls
as an editor, I realized there was time for the girls while waiting for
the set up the lighting by photographers. It was obvious that models
had nothing to do in these times. I thought it would be bad manners to
take a picture of them with an ordinary camera, so I decided to use
Cheki and take pictures of the models which was very popular among young
high school girls. The camera lets you check what you have taken on
site and simply record the atmosphere without criticizing the photo as
being well shot or not and suited my means of expression.

You don’t consider yourself a photographer per se, but as a
creative… has the accessibility of digital photography tempted you to
explore the medium deeper?

Before I became a photographer, I had been working as an editor (and I
still am). I always feel that “I am an editor” and will not change. I
guess that stance makes me in a position where I get involved in
creation overall.

Is it true that American Apparel CEO Dov ripped off your photographic style?

Yes, it is true. It was the year 2002. After he bought my work at the
Magic trade show in Las Vegas, their visual campaign had started. It
looks to me that they are copying it all including the core essence of
my concept. So for me it sure is funny.

It’s funny to us too because it’s pretty obvious. When we
first saw the American Apparel ads, we thought you shot them. You
recently turned your attention to the Japanese adult industry and worked
with several adult entertainers. Explain your attraction to
its culture.

I feel through the girls that the Japanese system based on moralism is collapsing by the idea of consumerism.

Japan has the second largest porn industry next to the United States. American adult entertainers like Jenna Jameson
are starting to penetrate the mainstream market. Who would of thought
NBC would have had the balls to allow her to make an appearance on
Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice. Will Japanese porn ever receive
this type of mainstream acceptance in your country?

In middle-aged men’s magazines and tv programs I see that the girls
are already in the mainstream. Japanese porn stars’ existence is
especially a bit complicating. Here is a text I wrote in the past. I
explained about what the complicating points are so I would like you to
read and see. “I was so surprised to see the sales figure by
multiplying 3000yen/per video times the number of video sold annually.
Vast sum. These kinds of industry and company is accepted as standing on
a very successful business model in such times when people estimate the
value of business on how much money you have made than how you earned
the money. Porn video is not a product developed by sex culture, but
just a product that is consumed. There are 15000 of porn titles
that are produced annually, which means 42 videos are produced in a day.
There is no officially announced numbers of porn video actresses (for
short, “AV actresses”) so we can’t estimate the total numbers of them
but, it tells you that there are awfully a lot of them. I have asked
many times to many of them why they became AV actresses. The reason is
unbelievable. The most answered phrases are “No special reason. Just
sort of … felt like being it”… “Just sort of … wanted money”… “Just sort
of wanted to be famous…” etc… There is no ambition of trying to become a
star in the entertainment business. The vague mood of “if I get in this
system and get involved in AV industry my life might change and can
become someone else…” hypnotized the girls in the industry. There
was a girl who had been scouted on the street and could not say “no”
(could not make her intention clear) and had been led to the industry. I
heard from her that there were lots of other girls who worked in the
industry for the same reason. There is almost no girl who is
encountering poverty in Japan. But, they feel fear when they think they
can’t buy a “Louis Vuitton” purse. I once took a survey to high school
girls “why does high school girls want Louis Vuitton?” and many of them
answered that “Possession of Louis Vuitton is a start line”. To the
majority of the Japanese, the action of “buying something that everyone
knows” means “joining the group”. No one cares how the money was earned
and there is no sense of moral in the society to verify how it was
earned. “Adult Video(Porn video)”. Ever since it made its
appearance in the scene, irrespective of likes and dislikes it has grown
into one of the most notorious Japanese cultures known to the world.
The term of “AV” as well as “bukkake” which means numbers of people
splashing seminal fluid on to the girls face has become a national
language. And Japanese people are the only people who don’t know that.
In spite of the situation, it is quite difficult to give names of AV
actresses now in the scene if you are not a AV freak. But without our
awareness the industry is still getting structured and is building up
the consumueristic culture. If you can not deny your feelings “wanting
to possess money to join the group” distinctly it would not be so
difficult for anyone to be mounted in the toothed wheel of this kind
of society.”

Do you watch American porn? If so, have you seen the cutting edge work of Eon McKai and his army of directors from Vivid-Alt?

Never do. It’s my first time to hear of Eon McKai & Vivid-Alt’s names. I checked it out and it was pretty interesting.

You guys should connect next time your in the US. In terms of
models, tell us who have been your favorites to work with and why?

I am only interested in women to choose as an object of shooting, so
the action of “taking a photograph” would not start if I do not like the
object. To simply explain, I like all the women that I have
photographed in the past.

If you could work with any model or celebrity in the States who would it be and why?

I live in Japan so that is why I take photos of Japanese women. My
photography is a documentary so there always needs to be a motive in
each photograph. It is because I want to shoot with sufficient
understanding of the position in the community in which the object/model
stands. If I live in America and learn more about America and if it
gets explained by someone who really understands the community just like
I do for Japan, I might consider shooting for them.

You have a substantial streewear following around the world. You are a contributing blogger for Upper Playground
in the States and you also collaborate with many streetwear brands on
exclusive products. Describe the current state of streetwear and do you
feel its over saturated and too accessible at the moment?

I think “street culture” has always been “a new system” opposed to
the existent established system. I always have worked and had been
standing in this position. But even in the birth place of such culture
including Japan “street culture” has become a part of established brands
and now it has become “then-new culture that has been accepted by
high-brands.” I am not considering to work in this framework, and even
if I did, I will not change my position.

Are you working on any projects at the moment that we should know about?

There will be a big project touring Asian cities like Shanghai,
Beijing, Hangzhou, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore in April. There are
lots more, so please check it out on my blog.

Interview With 666 Photography

666 Photography

We always thought the yuhmmiest thing in Austin was the dry rub flavored bbq from the Salt Lick until we were introduced to the photographic genius of 666 Photography.
Photographer Gayla Partridge and her crew create retro and pin up
portraits that are distinctly lush and magnificently constructed.
Booking a session with Gayla is about as hard as sneaking into a SXSW
showcase without a pass. So, book now while the waiting list is only 4
months long.

The name 666 Photography… Is Satan part of your creative team?

We here at 666photography love puppies, little children, and fluffy
bunnies. Oddly enough, I was raised Southern Baptist. Satan has no
power here! ;)

Your approach to photography is that it’s more than just taking a good photo. Please explain.

I love taking photographs. But I equally love creating and building
sets, costumes, wigs etc. For me, the whole process, from constructing
the sets to styling the models to eventually taking the photograph is
important. I do most of it myself, with the help of a wonderful makeup
artist, and I think the continuity of the photo from beginning to end
makes it more than just a photo.

We’re assuming that you have a theater background being able to
create the amazing props, costumes and backdrops… or were you part of a
traveling circus at one point of your life?

I have a theater background growing up acting and singing, but never
in the prop department. Art, in any form, has always been my passion
and I happen to be handy with a hammer.

What first attracted you to retro/vintage and pin up photography?

When I first got back into photography, years after college, I was
really interested in swing dancing and rockabilly music. Because a lot
of the gals and guys I danced with embraced the vintage culture, it was
just natural that I began shooting them. Because of the style, it lent
itself to pinup.

You provide a service where women can come to you for a retro
style or pin up photograph. If my granny came in and asked to look
like Bettie Page, could you make that happen?

I could make granny look the best she has ever looked, and more
importantly, feel more gorgeous than she has ever felt! I work with an
amazing makeup artist, Lisa Naeyaert, who is wonderful at transforming
the average gal, or granny, into a bombshell.

The models in your personal collections are delicious. You’ve worked with some of our favorites like Heidi Van Horne and Sabina Kelley, but are many of them local discoveries?

Some of the gals are local. Many have flown in to shoot. We count
the majority of our lovely ladies as friends, so we have been lucky
enough to shoot some of them numerous times.

Describe the characteristics you look for when choosing your models.

These days I dont really look for the typical pinup look. I am
always searching for gals with something interesting about them. Could
be their eyes, or lips, or a general style, but I tend to enjoy working
with the gal that has something a little bit different.

Is there someone out there on your radar that you’d love to photograph?

There is a model in LA named Betcee May,
who has everything I could ever look for in a model. She is my dream
model! We are so booked we dont get to travel to shoot, but someday our
paths will cross!

Are there any current photographers or artists you feel are pushing the envelope or inspire you?

I havent really been bowled over by anyone lately that is pushing the
envelope. There are tons of amazing photographers whose work I admire.
With that said, I do adore Marla Rutherfords work! Her shoots with latex just thrill me!

Besides your website, where else can we see your work and what’s on your horizon for 09?

We have our first coffee table book coming out in Fall of 2009 through Korero Books.
It will be a retrospective of my work for the last 6 years or so. We
have a few gallery shows we are participating in in 2009, in a few
different states, so there might be one near you soon.
